8 & 12 hour day rotations/Eve's: 3:00PM-11:00PM or 7:00PM-11PM
One year internship from approximately May 2012-May 2013
Assists the Respiratory Care Therapists (RT) in assessing and treating patients ranging in age from the very young (newborn) to the very old in order to prevent, assess, alleviate or correct breathing disorders associated with a medical trauma or disease process. Responsible for assisting in the treatment of both inpatients and outpatients. Interns may work with patients on an individual and/or group basis using current technology and treatment techniques consistent with department and hospital policies and procedures. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
EDUCATION
Currently enrolled in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Care program with completion of at least one year of respiratory care education.
EXPERIENCE
Orientation and training will be provided by the Respiratory Care Educator or preceptor.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.

Temporary Part-time
Every other weekend, Rotating Holidays
