Interview patients via telephone and in person utilizing excellent communication and interviewing skills.
Performs financial counseling with patients as necessary following HCMC policies and procedures ensuring quality and confidentiality.
Evaluates and interprets patient financial history; ensures proper documentation and information gathering.
Educates patients on available financial resources and assesses patients for government sponsored healthcare program eligibility.
Assists with completion of the application process for available financial resources.
Calculates patients prepayment responsibility when required for particular services.
Provide excellent customer service.
Other duties as assigned.
2 year degree in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field OR equivalent post HS education with computer knowledge.
3 years clerical experience in healthcare to include 2 years medical claims experience and knowledge of patient billing claims process and/or collection process OR 2 years experience working with medical assistance programs and knowledge of program requirements.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish required

Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage tasks based on established criteria.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
EPIC experience preferred.
Ability to analyze issues and make judgments about appropriate steps toward solutions.
CRCR (Credentialed Revenue Cycle Representative) certification preferred.
