1. Develop long-range strategic and operational plans to ensure that ambulatory services patient care programs and operational objectives are being achieved.
2. Ensure integration of resources and needs within ambulatory services and other areas of HCMC. Ensure the measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of nursing productivity, quality and financial performance.
3. Collaboratively establish success indicators in the areas of clinical, functional and financial outcomes, patient and staff satisfaction, and measure performance against those indicators.
4. Ensure clinical practice and patient care meet national and local standards, are based on recognized best practices, and reflect evidence-based practice.
5. Oversee management of business processes and promote efficiency within ambulatory services by determining the right level, skill mix and number of employees, and ensure workforce is trained to competently perform the work required.
6. Select, develop, evaluate and mentor ambulatory directors and managers. Direct the work of ambulatory services leadership in the establishment of priorities, policies, procedures, resource allocation and service delivery.
7. Forge a collaborative relationship with medical staff to continually provide best possible care and services consistent with strategic plans, patient safety expectations, and customer service expectations.
8. Champion an interdisciplinary approach to leadership across functions in partnership with other HCMC leaders, physician leaders and other organizational leaders/stakeholders. Work with other members of the executive leadership team to ensure that patient care is provided in an integrated manner.
9. Responsible for the preparation, review, and management of nursing and patient care department budgets to meet or exceed budgetary expectations.
10. Establish and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
11. Effect compliance with applicable laws, regulations and accreditation standards and promote a culture of compliance.
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Health Administration, or other related health profession, plus ten (10) years of related leadership experience within a healthcare organization including executive level experience managing clinic functions.
