Responsible for assisting nursing staff in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures to provide quality patient care. Patients range from early adolescence to the very old, however, the major populations served are adult and geriatric. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
EDUCATIONRequires a level of knowledge normally acquired in the course of obtaining a high school diploma. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training course is required, or equivalent experience. Basic knowledge of nursing assistant duties and responsibilities with Medical Terminology Course preferred. Completion of Saint Cloud Hospitals orientation program.
EXPERIENCEKnowledge of nursing principles, policies and procedures. Orientation will be given to obtain desired entry-level competence in lieu of experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSCurrent American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required after one year of employment.Bladder Scan Certification preferred.Urinary Catheterization Certification preferred.
