Interfaces with patients, PNHS staff and third party payers to ensure accurate and timely registration insurance selection. Uses effective interpersonal skills to gather necessary insurance information from patients, either over the phone or in direct conversation, with the result of an accurate claims submission. Will utilize payer eligibility resources to validate patient insurance information and streamline patient check-in. Works with the clinic staff to assist with front desk registration process issues, to assist or refer patients to proper resources for billing questions, and as time allows, to assist with patient check-in. Education/Experience: High School diploma, 1 year proven healthcare insurance selection or registration, PC and customer service experience/skills. LastWord experience helpful, along with the ability to work independently. Successful completion of a certification exam following department-specific training is required, followed by annual re-certification.
