Job Description

The Sr. Business Analyst is the liaison between the business stakeholders and Information Technology (IT) and serves as an advocate for the business stakeholder. Guides the stakeholder to articulate the problem/need and explore potential solutions, which may not necessarily be technology. Elicits, understands, documents and communicates stakeholder requirements so they are understood by all audiences (e.g. business user, administrator, IT technical) in order to define and validate solutions that fulfill the business need and deliver value to the organization. Applies organization knowledge, creative and system thinking, problem solving and decision making skills to lead and manage business analysis functions for projects of various size and scope, up to enterprise-wide projects that impact multiple areas within Park Nicollet. Develops methodology, tools and techniques used in business analysis tasks. Selects and utilizes appropriate tools and techniques most relevant to the specific project to ensure optimum value and quality solutions are delivered. Works in joint effort with the project manager (PM) in all phases of the project life cycle. Plans, estimates, executes and manages a Business Analysis Plan incorporated into the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) process. Maintains stakeholder relationship to ensure solution continues to support organizational goals and deliver value. Works independently. Provides work direction and mentors less experienced Business Analysts and all roles that perform business analysis tasks. Bachelors degree or equivalent, plus 5-6 years of proven business analysis experience in projects of both medium and large scale. General knowledge of the health care industry is also desired. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: 1. IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) certification is desired. 2. Knowledge and experience using business analysis methodology and tools as prescribed in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge. 3. (Preferred) Possess general knowledge in the following: a. health care industry b. organizational knowledge of Park Nicollet c. current technology trends both within Park Nicollet and the industry in order to identify business need solutions d. general and more specialized software applications 4. Possess skills in: a. Creative and systems thinking b. Decision making c. Problem solving d. Active listening e. Oral and written communication f. Facilitation and negotiation g. Leadership and influencing h. Teamwork i. Personal organization 5. Ability to adapt to and apply business analysis methodology to all variety of organizational domains.
