Plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned nursing unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Position requires strong verbal communication skills, strong written communication skills (including legible handwriting) and a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, visitors, co-workers and other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years experience required:
Completion of an accredited Health Unit Coordinator Program (preferred), or Medical Secretary program
Minimum of one year of work experience in a hospital or clinical setting as a Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Secretary or Medical Receptionist.
Must have demonstrated experience utilizing computers and strong keyboarding skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Must have a basic understanding of medical terminology.
