Job Description

Provides a broad and varying range of administrative support of a confidential nature to leaders; typically director-level and above. Duties include; Arrange for meetings, conferences and appointments etc., frequently requiring constructive negotiating and coordinating in order to eliminate schedule conflicts; Type letters, presentations, reports, memos, minutes etc., including independent composition; Prepare minutes, policies, procedures and guidelines for submission to Intranet; and Screen visitors, patients, personnel and telephone calls, resolving independently as many requests/ issues as possible. Unresolved and significant requests/ issues will then be brought to the attention of the Senior Administrative Assistant or department leader. Highly motivated individual with strong verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills, plus extensive knowledge of general office practices and procedures including: accurate and efficient typing skills, spelling, grammar, organization, editing, punctuation, personal computer applications, calendar management, spreadsheet, webpage, databases, correspondence and telephone etiquette skills. This position also requires the ability to professionally handle and maintain materials of a strictly confidential nature. Medical terminology may be preferred in patient care areas. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in an office administration/administrative assistant program preferred. At least one to three years of related experience, and advanced office administration experience preferred.
