Overview

Olmsted Medical Center (OMC), a not-for-profit organization, has been southeastern Minnesota’s hometown healthcare provider since 1949. OMC’s 165 clinicians join 1,000 other healthcare professionals serving at 18 locations, including two multi-specialty clinics, a Level IV trauma hospital with 24-hour emergency room, two FastCare retail clinics in Rochester Shopko stores, a Skyway Clinic in downtown Rochester, and 10 community branch clinics.

OMC has more than 20 specialties and is best known for its convenient, quality personal primary care. Each year, the Olmsted Medical Center team sees 250,000 patients, performs 3,000 major surgical operations, cares for 38,000 patients in our Emergency Care department, and delivers nearly 1,000 babies.

Area Attractions

Rochester, Minn., with a population of 110,742 (2013 census), is located on the south fork of the Zumbro River and encompasses approximately 54 square mile area. The third largest city in Minnesota, it has more than 3500 acres of park land and more than 85 miles of paved trails to explore. Rochester is about 80 miles southeast of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. There are many attractions and activities in and near Rochester, a few include: Silver Lake, Heritage House, the History Center, Mayowood Mansion, Quarry Hill Nature Center, and Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo. In addition to the many trails for biking and hiking, there are multiple entertainment options, theatrical performances, concerts, camping, county and state parks, sporting events, festivals, athletic opportunities, museums, an art center, and shopping.
