The Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) is a trade association representing 144 hospitals and health systems in communities throughout Minnesota. It is governed by a 30 member board of directors, including many of Minnesota’s top health care and community leaders. Its vision is “To be the state’s most influential, trusted and respected leader in health care policy and advocacy, and a valued resource for information and knowledge.” The association’s core functions in achieving this vision are: advocacy and representation, education, communications, data and information services, legal services, workforce, member relations, and media relations. The organization also provides consulting services to hospital administration and governing boards.
MHA is dedicated to developing policy, performing advocacy and providing services designed to assist members in caring for the health of their communities. This is done by providing leadership to the state and federal policy makers on issues of health policy and health care reform, organizing forums to stimulate ideas, convey information and facilitate supportive exchanges among members.
