The Regions Direct/MRCC operator will be the initial contact for all Regions Direct admissions and consultations. Regions Direct has been identified by senior leadership as a critical function in support of strategic hospital growth. MRCC Operators are required to provide prompt and courteous customer service at all times. The MRCC Operators must be able to communicate effectively with physicians from outside organizations to physicians at Regions Hospital to provide patient consultation and/or patient admission. MRCC Operators are responsible for triage of all Regions Direct patients to ensure a proper physician connection. MRCC Operators will be the initial point of contact for critical admissions such as Cath Lab Activations, Trauma Team Activation or Code Grey admissions for stroke patients. MRCC Operators will perform other duties as assigned.
The MRCC Operator will receive patient information from ambulance services within the metro area, greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. This patient information will be communicated to the receiving hospital or medical facility. Operators will use multiple communication tools to communicate with different medical agencies. Operators will conduct themselves in a professional manner with a high emphasis on customer service. The MRCC Operator will provide quality assurance for the Regions Hospital EMS program and will identify areas for quality improvement. Will participate in research and quality assurance/improvement activities as requested. MRCC will have a vital role in the management of a Multiple Casualty Incident so the operators will need to gather information and pass that information on to participating agencies.
