Job Description


4341 Completion of accredited two-year program in nursing.

4342 Completion of accredited bachelors degree in nursing.

4343 Bachelors degree in nursing. Masters degree in nursing.


PACU: Six months (1040 hours) experience as a registered nurse in a hospital, nursing home, transitional care or successful completion of the RegionsHospital nurse residency program.

Per Diem status requires a minimum of 3 years (6240) hours of RN work experience in an acute care setting.

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques.
Knowledge of chemistry, math, pharmacology, anatomy and all body systems.
Knowledge of emergency procedures and medical intervention techniques.
Ability to properly lift up to fifty pounds lifts with assistance over 100 pounds.
Knowledge of current policies and procedures
Ability to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members and co-workers.
Ability to recognize subtle changes in patients condition or body systems.
Ability to work safely and utilize critical thinking skills in fast paced work environment.
Ability to communicate timely and effectively with appropriate team members

Licensure/Registration/ Certification:

Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota.

Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The year when demonstration of competency is not required, a general review of CPR is required.

Registered nurses who have not completed 520 hours of applicable nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course in order to qualify for employment. Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment.
