Job Description

Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive health care, under limited supervision of the collaborating physicians, to Digestive Center patients. Digestive practice includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive health care assessment, diagnosis, initiation of appropriate care and treatment of a variety of patients with digestive problems. Will manage acute and chronic illnesses and promote wellness. Role models and supports a participative environment. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.

EDUCATION
Graduate from a formal program approved by a national accrediting agency and be certified by a national certification organization recognized by the Minnesota State.

EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated skills in organizational management, leadership, communication and clinical expertise required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
Current certification by a national certification organization recognized by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.
Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) in the State of Minnesota required.
Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor.
Successful completion of third party payer credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy.

Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive health care, under limited supervision of the collaborating physicians, to Digestive Center patients. Digestive practice includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive health care assessment, diagnosis, initiation of appropriate care and treatment of a variety of patients with digestive problems. Will manage acute and chronic illnesses and promote wellness. Role models and supports a participative environment.

EDUCATION
Completion of a formal physician assistant program approved by a national accrediting agency required.

EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
Demonstrated skills in organizational management, leadership, communication and clinical expertise required.

Must have a current Physician Assistant (PA) license in Minnesota.
Certified by a national certification organization recognized by the State of Minnesota.
