The Advanced Practice Provider works in the award-winning CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center and St. Cloud Hospital to assure quality care. The Cardiology practice includes, but is not limited to, planning, evaluating, implementing and coordinating care of the cardiovascular patient through Electrophysiology while collaborating with the cardiac team.

About Our Electrophysiology Department

Electrophysiology Labs

Our program has three specialized electrophysiology labs with the newest imaging and mapping systems.

Electrophysiologists perform complex mapping, ablations pacemaker, defibrillator, heart failure device and loop recorder placement.

Pacemaker & ICD Clinic

Our program is one of the largest in Minnesota. The clinic team monitors 4,500 patients with implanted devises per year.

They assure devices work correctly, optimized device settings to best meet your needs and assess the life of devices.

They perform more than 22,000 device-monitoring evaluations through remote (home) or in-clinic (in person) visits per year.

Atrial Fibrillation Management Program

This program helps you manage atrial fibrillation (Afib) symptoms and prevent stroke and heart failure.

A care team evaluates and develops a treatment plan to control patient heart rhythm and rate. The team will then monitor the effectiveness of the treatment plan.


We actively take part in research studies. Through this research program, we were an early user of the Medtronic Micra Transcatheter pacing system (TPS), the world's smallest pacemaker. We were one of the 70 sites worldwide to be chosen to participate.

Key position responsibilities:

In collaboration and under the supervision of a physician, the APP will coordinates the daily management of cardiac patients in clinic, hospital and/or possibly outreach setting. The candidate will do primarily inpatient rounding with the future opportunity to do outpatient rounding as well.


The candidate will work Monday-Friday. Future weekend rotation will be implemented and split between providers.

New Grad's Welcomed


Masters degree in nursing with formal training as a nurse practitioner in the same specialty area of practice in which they are certified OR Graduate from accredited Advanced Practice Provider program required.


Experience in the area of cardiovascular, internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics or oncology preferred

Experience in acute care is preferred

Demonstrated competence in teaching, organization, leadership, communication and research

Orientation will be given to obtain desired entry-level competence in lieu of experience


Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Specialist

Certified licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota Required

Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty required or Clinical Nurse Specialist in the state of Minnesota Required

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.

Physician Assistants

Minnesota Physician Assistant license required

National commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation.
