Responsible to assure the maintenance and repair of the diagnostic and therapeutic instrumentation and equipment used by technicians, doctors, and nurses. May be specialized in one or more areas including but not limited to Laboratory, Dialysis, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiology, etc. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Bio-Medical Equipment Technician program required. May require further education in one or more areas listed in function statement.
Thorough knowledge of Bio-Medical electronics through minimum of two years of practical experience preferred. Additional experience in specialized area listed in function statement may be required.
A valid Minnesota driver's license and a driving record in good standing required.
Biomedical Engineer, Bio Med Tech, Bio Med Equipment Tech are other commonly-used titles for this position.
