Job Description

Functions as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, autonomously and in collaboration with health care providers, as an expert clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader. This position supports the concepts and philosophy of adult acute care nursing. Provides patient and family centered care through The Compass: St. Cloud Hospital's Nursing Professional Practice Model to achieve the hospital mission of improving the health and quality of life that reflects the healing mission of Jesus. Age appropriate care is provided to patients and families. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.

Graduate from accredited school of nursing required. Masters Degree in nursing with formal training as a clinical nurse specialist in the same specialty area of practice in which certified.

Minimum of three years of experience in related nursing specialty. Demonstrated competence in teaching, organization, leadership, communication, and research.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) in the State of Minnesota required.
ANCC Board Certified as Clinical Nurse Specialist required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy.
