Job Description

The Per Diem Critical Care EMS Instructor is responsible for instructing various merit badge EMS courses depending on certification including: ACLS, PALS, TNCC and ENPC. The position will interact with pre-hospital providers (EMT-paramedics) as well as in-hospital providers (physicians, residents, nurses, other allied health, etc.). The position will assist the EMS Education Division as needed with the development and delivery of education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Associates or Bachelor degree
EMT-P, RN, PA-C, or NP

Experience:
Minimum two years experience in educational field
Minimum one years formal teaching experience in EMS or Nursing related courses
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat software

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:
Ability to communicate in person, in writing and by telephone
Aptitude to establish working relationships with the public, our medical direction customers and employees
Maintenance of professionalism and a standard of excellence with Regions employees, managers, customers and public
Competency to work independently, with autonomy and to meet deadlines
Keen sense of organization and prioritization
Working knowledge of critical care medicine such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
Ability to travel locally
Ability to work evenings occasionally
Certification level at the level or above the level of teaching

Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Current certification/licensure in applicable field (EMT-P, RN, PA-C, NP)
Minimally a certified provider in at least one of the following ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC (tracked in the department)
Instructor for at least one of the following: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
