Position Summary:
This position requires assessment, prioritization and coordination of patient needs upon their arrival to Regions Hospital EC. The Paramedic must demonstrate ability and efficiency completing and documenting dependent functions in order to carry out specific physician and RN orders in the ED environment. Additionally, the Paramedic is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients and to perform related duties as assigned by RNs and Medical Providers in a collaborative manner with team members. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of Paramedic education program.

Experience: none

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Licensed by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB) as a Paramedic.
Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician as a Paramedic is preferred upon hire but required within 6 months of hire.
Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Successful completion of American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred on hire but required within 6 months of hire and every two years thereafter.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Rapidly assess those patients needing immediate emergency care and intervention and communicate this assessment to RN team members.
Recognize changes in patient condition
Implement paramedic protocol and procedures and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Demonstrate skill using basic patient-care related equipment and supplies and accurately enter patient data in system electronic medical record.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with others on an interdisciplinary treatment team in the EC setting.
Maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:
Two years of clinical experience in an inpatient or community medical emergency setting.

Schedule

Various shifts and hours available, will include weekend rotation.Per diems will have a 24 hour per month minimum requirement
