Under the leadership of the Director of Life Engagement, provides an ongoing program of activities for SHCC residents and CMH Swing Bed patients; one that is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each individual resident/patient. Provides adaptation and/or resources to enhance the resident/patients highest practicable level of life engagement. Key role in the safe delivery of activity services to residents/patients on and off-site through supervision of department aides and other staff and/or volunteers assigned to the activities program.
QUALIFICATIONS:Successful completion of Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an AOTA accredited school. Must possess certification from NBCOT. Must possess current MN License and be in good standing. Must possess current CPR Certification or willingness to complete within six (6) months of hire. Must have an understanding of the social / recreational and psycho social aspects of various age groups and their needs. Must be able to assist with activities geared to resident needs. Experience desirable but not required.
