The Support Instructor may teach in collaboration with a Lead Instructor, but may not teach independently of a Registered Lead Instructor.
Education: Must successfully pass the S.T.A.B.L.E proctored pre test (closed book) with a score of 70% or higher. Must pass the 6th Edition Mixed Module post-test and PASS with a score of 75% on the first try. Candidate must observe an entire full-length learner course that is present by an experienced Registered Lead Instructor.
Experience: : At least one (1) year Newborn Nursery care experience. Familiar with material in one or more of the S.T.A.B.L.E program modules as follows: Principles of hypoglycemia (causes and treatment ), safe use of umbilical catheters, thermoregulation and physiologic consequences of hypothermia, neonatal chest x-ray interpretation, blood gas interpretation, neonatal respiratory diseases, pulmonary hypertension and shunting, use of assisted ventilation, resuscitation, assessment and treatment of shock, presentation and treatment of infection, CBC interpretation and offering emotional support to families
Licensure/Certification/Registration: MN RN Licensure

Experience: One (1) year equivalent (>2000 hours) of recent within 5 years Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience or neonatal transport.

SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
