Job Description

This position is responsible for registering patients, verifying insurance and demographics, scheduling appointments, and providing an informational center for patient questions and directional needs. This position provides excellent customer service and working cooperatively with all departments in an effort to achieve OMCs goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

Greets visitors to the department in a professional and friendly manner.
Protects patient confidentiality and health information at all times.
Registers and verifies demographics when scheduling or checking in patients.
Identifies primary care providers.
Answers patient questions, including billing, and provides directional needs.
Schedules and verifies patient appointments.
Discusses co-pays and payments with patients and customers.
Works closely with clinicians and nursing staff.
Attends education and training seminars.
Orders and stocks department supplies.
Performs internal and external patient referrals.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Prior computer experience required
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
